Obituary for Betty Jo Whoric May 19, 1935 – December 7, 2024 Betty Jo Whoric, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on December 7, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Petersburg, Tennessee, to Charles Anderson Keller and Flossie Evelyn Metcalf. Betty was the second youngest of six siblings, all of whom preceded her in death: Russell Keller, Eugene Keller, Reuben Keller, Clara Mae Hall, Louise Durham, and Billy Keller. Betty's early years were spent in her hometown of Lexy Crossroads, and she later graduated from Huntland High School and pursued accounting courses at Motlow State Community College. Betty went on to have a career, working as an office clerk for Tullahoma Utilities Board and later as office manager at Createc in Tullahoma, TN. She spent much of her life in Tullahoma with her beloved husband, James Whoric, where they built a home and a life together. Betty was a long-standing member of Wesley Heights Methodist Church, where her unwavering faith and dedication to others shone brightly. Betty’s passions included her family, her abundant flower gardens, her warm, inviting home and her church. Family was everything to Betty. She was a devoted wife to James, a loving mother to daughters Daphne Larkin and Jamie Lynch as well as her beloved daughter-in-law Stephanie McElvy and a proud grandmother to Dillon Lynch and Aidan Lynch, who were the light of her life. Betty was the epitome of selflessness, expressing her love through the meals she lovingly prepared for those she held dear. Known for her infectious laughter, joy for life, and vibrant spirit, she was loved by all who knew her. In the last three years of her life, Betty lived in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was lovingly cared for by her daughters and family. Her daughters would like to acknowledge and express gratitude for the loving care provided by her caregivers - Jeanette Mathews, Tracey Bright, Raychaundra Bright and Aisha Flye. Betty’s strength, resilience, and boundless capacity for love remained constant. Her impact on the lives of her family, friends, and community will never be forgotten. Betty is survived by her husband, James Whoric, daughters Daphne Larkin and Jamie Lynch, grandsons Aidan Lynch and Dillon Lynch. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at Wesley Heights United Methodist Church in Tullahoma, Tennessee Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12pm. Her family invites all who knew and loved Betty to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. Betty Jo Whoric's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the family will have a Private (family only) Entombment at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Mausoleum in Tullahoma, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 PM at Wesley Heights United Methodist Church in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Public celebration.
