Charles Raay Beddingfield of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Vanderbilt Wilson County hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee at the age of 73 years. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 12:30 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Tullahoma. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 Am until the time of service. “Charlie” “Baa-feel” as he would say, was born on May 18, 1951. He would say “May nineteen”. He was born in Pulaski, Tennessee. Charlie was the youngest of 9 children born to the late Calvin and Lillian Beddingfield. Charlie’s early life was spent on the family farm. Charlie then later moved to Tullahoma when he was in his 20’s. He came to live at the Eddie Street residential home on April 15, 1985. He shared that home with 6 other gentlemen, who became more like brothers to him. Charlie was blessed to have several long-time staff members in his life throughout the years. The staff and their families became Charlie’s family. He loved children and would play with the staff’s children often. He loved music, especially country and blue grass. He would say, “Pretty Song”. Charlie loved flowers, pretty houses, beans and taters, sunshine and nice shirts. He was always excited for “payday Friday”. Charlie was very social, and he had the brightest smile and an infectious laugh. Charlie was a collector of doo dollies, and anything that would fit into his pockets. He often filled his pockets with anything he needed to “borrow”. He enjoyed housework and keeping his room neat and clean. He enjoyed cleaning the kitchen after meals. He didn’t like to be interrupted while cleaning. Anyone who entered the kitchen would get popped with a towel followed by a loud mischievous laugh. He loved the wintertime, and playing in the snow. He would make snowmen with the staff and his housemates. His aim with a snowball was always on point, He loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, He looked forward to the decorations and lights. Charlie enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. He is survived by many friends and staff members at Skills Development Services, and he will truly be forever missed.
