He loved his family with a depth that did not need big speeches; it lived in the way he listened, the way he paid attention, and the way he made sure everyone else was okay before thinking of himself. He shared 44 years of marriage with his wife, Dana, and together they built a life full of small joys and big love. He took quiet pride in watching his children, Kimberly Austin, Heather Carr, and Joshua Miles, grow into adults with partners, Mike, J, and Mary Beth, who he welcomed as his own, embracing them with the same tenderness and generosity he gave to everyone he loved. His grandchildren, Taylor, Madelyn, and Margo, were the lights of his life, and watching Taylor play baseball was one of his greatest joys. Mark also had a soft spot for the animals who shared his home. His dogs, Rascal and Paxton, and his cat, Midnight, were constant companions who brought him comfort, laughter, and the kind of uncomplicated loyalty he appreciated so deeply. Throughout his illness, Mark showed a strength that defined him just as much as his kindness. He never gave up, not once. Visitation will be held with the family on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 11:00am at the same location. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
