Mrs. Ann Brown Harmon

Mrs. Ann Brown Harmon, age 80, of Tullahoma, passed away Friday, May 17 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10 AM at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Payne officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 20, from 5 – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. A native of Shelbyville, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Mary Stewart Brown. She loved music and singing and growing up, she and her sisters, Betty Jean and Daisie sang as “The Brown Girls” on local radio stations around Shelbyville. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church of Tullahoma where she sang in the choir and was involved in many church activities. She retired from Hardee’s on Lincoln Street in Tullahoma, where she was the breakfast manager. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David M. Harmon; one brother William Hoyte Brown and three sisters, Evelyn Adams, Jewell Milton and Mildred Oglesby. Mrs. Harmon is survived by two sons, Joseph M. Harmon III and his wife, Alice of Spring Branch, Texas and Kenneth Mark Harmon and his wife, Marie of Moore County, TN; one daughter, Sharon Harmon Brown and her husband, Tom of Manchester; three sisters, Bess Couser of Tullahoma, Daisie Frothingham of Estill Springs and Betty Jean Ragsdale of Tullahoma; nine grandchildren, Aaron Harmon and his wife, Paige of San Antonio, Texas, Christa Herron and her husband, Chris of Niceville, Florida, Justin Scott and his wife, Ashley of Estill Springs, Travis Harmon and his wife, Jessica of Suffolk, Virginia, Lora Phillips and her husband, Jimi of Manchester, Jamie Jernigan and her husband, Charlie of Manchester, Bryan Harmon and his wife, Ashley of Copley, Ohio, Lindsay Menne and her husband Neil of Alexandria, Virginia and Mary Katherine Harmon of Nashville, twelve great grandchildren, sixteen nieces and nephews and many loving friends. “Faith and Family defined her Life. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.” In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Spring Creek Baptist Church.
